Ingvar Thor Jónsson (born February 11, 1981 ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been under contract with Skautafélag Akureyrar in the Icelandic ice hockey league since 2007 .

Career

Ingvar Jónsson began his career as a hockey player at Skautafélag Akureyrar , where he made his debut in the Icelandic ice hockey league at the age of 17 . In 2001 he became national champion with his team . He then moved to Skautafélag Reykjavíkur . In 2005 he left the capital club and moved to the second Danish division for Gladsaxe SF . After two years in Denmark, he returned to his home club in Akureyri in 2007, with which he promptly became champions again. Since 2010 he has played for the first team of the club, SA Vikingar , with which he won his eighth Icelandic national championship title in 2016 and personally achieved the best plus / minus balance in the league in 2015 , as well as for the second team of the club, SA Jötnar . In the 2012/13 season he acted as a player-coach for his club. He has been the club's team captain since 2015.

International

Ingvar Jónsson played for Iceland as a youth. He took part in the U18-D European Championships in 1997 and 1998 and the European Division II of the U18 World Cup in 1999 and the U20-D World Championships in 1999 and 2000 .
