Insolence is a nu-metal band with reggae -Einflüssen, in San Jose , California in the year 1995 was established.
history
The band was formed in 1995. Together they initially played a few small, local gigs. After a few months a solid fan base had formed in the San Francisco Bay Area , so the band was able to play with some of the better-known national bands such as Rancid , Incubus , System of a Down , Sevendust , Jane's Addiction , Papa Roach , Alien Ant Farm , Adema , Machine Head , Staind and Cypress Hill to go on tour. In the summer of 1998 and 1999 the band went on tour through Europe and thereby increased their popularity. The band eventually reached a contract with Maverick Records . In 2001 the band released Revolution, their first album on a major label. As a result, the band went on tour with Black Sheep , Hoobastank , Ill Niño , Soulfly , Corporate Avenger , Kokomouth Kings and Insane Clown Posse . The single Poison Well has now also been broadcast regularly on MTV . Songs from the album were also featured on the soundtrack of Little Nicky and in the trailer for The Last Fortress . Live performances with Nelly , Destiny's Child and Static-X followed. As a result, the band flew to Toronto to make a cameo for the film Driven . The track was also used on Pro Snowboarder ( PlayStation 2 ) by Sean Palmer . Insolence then signed a contract with Warner Music and sold over 150,000 copies. Following this, Powerslave Records signed the band.
style
The style of the band is compared to other bands like Urban Dance Squad , Rage Against the Machine , Clawfinger , Ill Nino, System of a Down, but also Dub War and Bad Brains . All of the bands listed mix different genres in their music. It is characteristic of the band that they do even more styles than the bands listed. Especially hardcore , ska , punk , drum and bass , dancehall , reggae and hip-hop are style-defining genres. The use of samples and the use of rap singing is also particularly characteristic.
