International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition, Hanover
The Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover (also: International Violin Competition Hannover or Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover ) in Hannover is one of the world's bestdotierten Awards for a total of 12 each young violinists and violinists. The competition is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva .
history
The International Violin Competition Hanover was held for the first time in the same year on the initiative of the musician Krzysztof Węgrzyn and brought into being in 1991 by the Lower Saxony Foundation . The head of the Foundation's program department organized the competition, while the concertmaster of the Lower Saxony State Orchestra , Węgrzyn, who was also a professor at the HMTMH, took on the artistic direction.
procedure
The respective supporting program for the competition lasts around two weeks. Competitors and their companions can be accepted and looked after by various host families in and around Hanover free of charge . Prices

The Fritz Behrens Foundation temporarily awards the winners of the competition a " violin that was made by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini in Parma around 1765 ".
In 2012, first prize was awarded twice for the first time and second place was not awarded. The 3rd prize winner also received "the Critics' Prize endowed with 5,000 euros and the Audience Prize ".
