Ivo Garrani

Ivo Garrani (born February 6, 1924 in Introdacqua , † March 25, 2015 in Rome ) was an Italian actor and voice actor .

Life

Garrani began his stage career in 1943 alongside Carlo Tamberlani . He appeared together with numerous Italian stage greats of the time such as Rina Morelli , Paolo Stoppa and Gino Cervi . In 1960 he founded the theater group “La Compagnia degli Attori Associati” together with Enrico Maria Salerno and Giancarlo Sbragia , which, in addition to stage productions, also took care of actors' social concerns. Garrani's greatest stage successes include the title role in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar in 1954 at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano , directed by Giorgio Strehler .

In 1952 Garrani made his feature film debut in Ragazze da marito , a comedy by and with the siblings Peppino , Titina and Eduardo De Filippo . In a career spanning almost 60 years, he has worked in almost 100 film and television productions. He played in sandal films like Hercules conquers Atlantis , in horror films like Mario Bava's The Hour when Dracula Comes , in period films and biographies like John XXIII. - For a world in peace and action films like Settlement in San Francisco with Roger Moore . Garrani died on March 25, 2015 in Rome at the age of 91.
