Jewish cemetery (Unsleben)
The Jewish cemetery Unsleben is a Jewish cemetery in Unsleben in Lower Franconia , a community in the Rhön-Grabfeld district .
history
Until the cemetery was set up in 1856, the deceased were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Kleinbardorf . The first burial dates back to February 22, 1857, when Clärle Engel was buried. In 1975 a memorial was erected for the Jews of Unsleben who were murdered during the National Socialist era . The last burial in the cemetery took place in 1942.
Location and characterization
The cemetery is located 1.5 kilometers east of Unsleben on a ridge. It has an area of 23.80 ares and today there are still about 240 tombstones ( mazewot ).
