Jewish cemetery (Neustädtles)
The Neustädtles Jewish Cemetery in Neustädtles , a district of the municipality of Nordheim vor der Rhön in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld , was built in the 16th or 17th century. The cemetery is located on a hill between Willmars and Neustädtles and can be reached via a dirt road at the level of the last Willmarser Aussiedlerhof .
history
There was no Jewish community in Neustädtles itself . The Jewish cemetery in Neustädtles was laid out in the 16th or 17th century for the dead of the following Jewish communities in the area: Haselbach , Hausen , Nordheim vor der Rhön , Oberelsbach , Weisbach , Willmars and, until 1890, some Oberwaldbehrungen .
Today about 1,300 tombstones ( Mazewot ) are preserved on the old part and 113 on the new part of the 47.80 ares large cemetery . The last burial took place in 1938.
