Jewish cemetery (Maßbach)
The Maßbach Jewish Cemetery in Maßbach , a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , was established in 1902. It is located on a steep slope in the Steinerloh corridor northwest of the village. The Jewish cemetery can be reached via the road leading out of town from the communal cemetery (Obere Friedhofstrasse) .
history
The Jewish community of Maßbach had buried their dead before 1903 in the Kleinbardorf Jewish cemetery . The dead of the Jewish community in Poppenlauer were now buried in the new Jewish cemetery in Massbach . Today 41 tombstones ( mazewot ) are preserved in the 3.87 ares large cemetery . The first burial took place on January 16, 1903 (Samuel Eberhardt) and the last on June 6, 1942 (Jette Grünebaum).
