Jürgen Grislawski

Jürgen Grislawski (born October 29, 1955 in Wanne-Eickel ) is a German painter.

life and work

From 1977 to 1982 Grislawski studied design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with Günter Reker. In 1982 he studied with Günter Reker, Franz Rudolf Knubel and Wolfgang Pilz with distinction.

From 1980 to 1983 he was a member of the group Bimbo Band together with Peter Habermehl and Frank Marschall. In 1987 he first went to Los Angeles / Long Beach, California (USA) to study, then studied Chinese ink painting with Dr. Chu in Taipei (Taiwan). From 2002 to 2008 he worked as a lecturer at the Ruhr Academy in Schwerte. In the 2008/2009 winter semester, he was teaching at the Münster University of Applied Sciences .

His work focuses on painting, printmaking ( screen and letterpress ) and sculpture with wood. Since 1982 he has been working as a freelance artist in his hometown. He is married to the photo artist Brigitte Kraemer .
