JS Kuster (2018)

Johann Sebastian Kuster is a German music producer , manager and music video director from Berlin , who also appears under the pseudonym Tengo . He is best known for his collaboration with the rapper Massiv . Together they ran the label Qualität'er Music. During the engagement with the Snowgoons production team, various productions could also be realized outside of the German-speaking area.

Career

Johann Sebastian Kuster was born in Berlin. He was influenced by music from an early age. He later became aware of the German rappers of the Royal Bunker and the American hip-hop musicians 50 Cent and The Game . Kuster dedicated himself to the production of hip-hop songs and from 2006 worked closely with the Berlin quartet DeineLtan, for which he wrote large parts of the albums Kopf Schuss , Blutbad Berlin and Ja Man! Under the pseudonym Tango & Cash . produced. For the latter publication, the Berliner also took over the mixing and mastering . Through Collins, a founding member of Die Sekte, he met the rappers Sido and B-Tight, who chose one of his instrumentals for the sect music sampler Die Sekt in 2009 . Around the same time, Kuster first met the rapper Massiv , on whose albums Meine Zeit and Der Ghettotraum In Handarbeit he then worked. The Berliner was also represented on Azad's Azphalt Inferno 2 .

In 2011, Kuster gave up the pseudonym Tango & Cash in order to appear under his real name. He then worked on Massivs Blut gegen Blut II and Basstards Zwiespalt (Weiss) . In the same year he first met DJ Illegal from the then duo Snowgoons in a record store. The contact gave the Berliner the opportunity to produce for international musicians. Kuster contributed most of the productions on the Sparta album for the hardcore rappers of MOP . DJ Illegal and Det, who had also produced some instrumentals, then recorded Kuster in their producer collective with the aim of expanding the sound. On the following Snowgoons album Snowgoons Dynasty in 2012 , he worked with American musicians such as Termanology , Sean Price , Bizarre , Killah Priest , Ghostface Killah and Fredro Starr . The Snowgoons, which have expanded into a quartet, are followed by the albums Welcome To The Goondox and Black Snow 2 , which once again came up with numerous well-known guest rappers with Styles P , Papoose , Kool G Rap , Masta Ace , Raekwon and Tech N9ne .

Due to the more personal contact, Kuster started producing for German artists from 2013. He worked again for Massiv on Blut gegen Blut 3 and on the album Bodhiguard for Absztrakkt . Apart from exceptions such as Young Buck or RA The Rugged Man , the Snowgoons also concentrated on their collaboration with national rappers such as DCVDNS , Favorite , Olli Banjo , Morlockk Dilemma or Sylabil Spill on their publication Gebrüder Grimm , which appeared at the end of 2014 . Kuster himself can also be heard as a rapper for the first time on the album. Internationally, the four producers contributed all of the instrumentals to Onyx ' Wakedafucup . Kuster was also responsible for mixing and mastering the album. The theme song he produced garnered more than 9.5 million views over the next four years. In 2016 the Snowgoons released another producer album, Goon Bap , on which artists such as DJ Premier , Royce da 5'9 ″ , Dilated Peoples and Method Man are represented. Furthermore, he continued the work as Massiv's regular producer. So he took over the production of Predator , BGB X and M10 II .

At the beginning of 2019, Kuster founded the label Qualität'er Music together with Massiv and Asfand Saeed . Ramo was presented as the first artist. Artist contracts with Marlo and Ian104 followed in the course of the year. Under the name Tengo, he has so far been involved in all of the rappers' productions. He also appeared as the director of the music videos Silberzahn and Eiskalt by Ramo and Bruderherz von Massiv.
