Jagerberg , also Jagaberg , is a small town in southern Burgenland and belongs to the market town of Sankt Martin an der Raab in the Jennersdorf district , Burgenland .

geography

The place is 4 kilometers southwest of St. Martin . It lies on the right bank (south) above the Raabtal , in the Neuhauser Hügelland , on the Riedel between Gritschbach and Doiberbach . to around 360  m above sea level. A. Height. The cadastral boundaries of Welten , Gritsch and Doiber , the three valley towns around 2 km away , meet in the middle of the village . The northern houses belong to worlds, the southern to Doiber, a homestead belongs to Gritsch. Thomasberg , which belongs to Windisch-Minihof , connects directly to the south.

History and infrastructure

Jagerberg is originally a field name. In the middle of the 19th century there was only the tavern (today Jagabergwirt ) and a few farmsteads. Like all of Burgenland, the place belonged to the German West Hungary region in the Kingdom of Hungary , in the Hungarian half of the empire (Transleithanien), until 1921 .

The place is part of the cross-border nature park Raab-Őrség-Goričko , the Austrian part is the nature park Raab .
