Jakob Friedrich Feddersen
Jakob Friedrich Feddersen (born July 31, 1736 in Schleswig , † December 31, 1788 in Altona ) was a Danish-German Protestant clergyman.
Life
Jakob Friedrich Feddersen came from a merchant family and was the son of Friedrich Feddersen; he was originally supposed to become a businessman like his father. After he had broken off the business apprenticeship he had begun to become a pastor, he attended grammar school Schleswig in preparation for studying theology and then studied from 1755 to 1758 at the University of Jena and heard lectures from Friedrich Theodosius Müller (1716–1766). After completing his studies, he returned to Schleswig and worked there for two years as a private tutor for the conference councilor Otto.
In 1760, Duke Friedrich Christian I of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg appointed him his cabinet and court preacher . Here he met the Hereditary Prince Friedrich Albrecht von Anhalt-Bernburg , who in 1763 married Luise (1748–1769), the youngest daughter of Friedrich Karl of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön and sister of the Duchess of Augustenburg.
Friederich Albrecht von Anhalt-Bernburg appointed Feddersen as court chaplain to his wife in 1765, immediately after he took office. Associated with this was the pastoral care of the Evangelical Lutheran communities of Ballenstedt , Bernburg and Harzgerode . After Luise's death in 1769, Jakob Friedrich Feddersen went to the Johanniskirche in Magdeburg as the third preacher in 1769 and in 1777 followed a call as cathedral preacher at Brunswick Cathedral . In 1785 he became court preacher to Duchess Philippine Charlotte von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, who had been widowed since 1780 . In 1788 he was employed as consistorial councilor and provost of the main church of St. Trinitatis in Altona and Pinneberg , in addition he was given the supervision of the academic high school (today: Christianeum ), but died at the end of the year.
family
Jakob Friedrich Feddersen married Charlotta Friederica, daughter of Pastor Joachim Ernst Müller from Gleschendorf in 1766 . Her brother Christian August Müller (1727–1796), pastor in Plön and later in Geschendorf, was married to Dorothea Christina (1744–1766), a sister of the poet Matthias Claudius . They had three children together. Of these are known by name:

Honors
Even if Jakob Friedrich Feddersen had only been active in Altona for a short time, his congregation erected a memorial made of white sandstone for him in the cemetery, in the middle of which there was his name, dates of birth and death and some verses from the Bible on a black marble plaque.
