Jan-Friedrich Conrad (born November 18, 1964 in Hamburg ) is a German composer , publicist and alternative practitioner for psychotherapy .

Life

Conrad was born in Hamburg in 1964 and grew up in Norderstedt . After graduating from high school , he studied systematic and historical musicology and education in Hamburg. During his studies he met Andreas Beurmann and Heikedine Körting and began to compose and produce musical accents for the radio play series of the Europa label . In 1986 he recorded the album Ausflug mit Franziska with the Hamburg punk band Razzia as keyboard player and co-arranger, and the album “Sonntagsfahrer” (1991) with his band Milzbrand.

Radio play music and music productions

Conrad made a name for himself as a composer of radio play music for various radio play series. He wrote the title melody of the radio play series Die Drei ??? sung with a vocoder. which replaced the original theme song by Carsten Bohn . In addition to the production for the radio play series TKKG , he composed most of the music for the European radio play adaptations of television series and cinema productions such as Knight Rider , Airwolf , The A-Team and A Nightmare on Elm Street . The music productions were made with the sequencer Notator SL and MIDI recording and many synthesizers . At the same time, Conrad was always active as a rock musician ( guitarist , keyboardist and bassist ).

For his theme song and collaboration on the radio play series Die Drei ??? Conrad was honored with a gold record on the occasion of episode 100 . The series itself, which was equipped with its theme song, was awarded 30 × gold and 4 × platinum as well as a kids award with 96 × gold and 19 × platinum.

Publications

Through his experience in music productions, he became editor of Keys magazine in 1991 and the author of hundreds of test reports and specialist articles on music production technology, musical instruments , sound reinforcement technology and studio technology for Soundcheck and Recording Magazin. His books have also been published by the publishing house PPV Medien.

Musicals

As a lyricist, librettist and composer, Conrad wrote the musicals "Artikel Eins" (1999) and "Familie Petersen, or why we have carrot cake for Christmas" (2007), which were directed by Claudia Piehl. In 2012 the musical “Timon and the Fortune Cookie” was premiered (composition: Jan-Friedrich Conrad, libretto: Jan Martensen).

Healing practice for psychotherapy

In 2009 Conrad passed the official medical examination to become a naturopath for psychotherapy in Rendsburg and runs a practice for conversation psychotherapy in Eckernförde. In his work he strictly follows the person-centered approach according to Carl Rogers and also teaches this as part of his study group Psyche.

Teaching

As a lecturer and reviewer , Conrad works for the SAE Institute in Hamburg and Zurich and teaches scientific work and media ethics in addition to many topics in electroacoustics ( sound engineering ) in the diploma and bachelor's degree programs . He also leads groups for Intervision in training to become a singing, dancing and acting trainer in Eckernförde .
