Chochlowa started ice skating in 1990. First she ran in the Moscow Children's Ice Ballet. At the age of 13, she switched to pair skating and eventually ice dancing. In 2006 Khokhlova and Novitsky made their debut at the Olympic Games , World and European Championships . In 2008 they became Russian champions for the first time and won their first medals at world and European championships with bronze . In 2009 they defended their national championship title and became European champions in Helsinki . At the world championship it was only enough to finish sixth. The following year, Chochlowa and Novitsky won their last medal with bronze at the European Championships . At the Vancouver Olympics , she finished in ninth place. At the World Cup they had to give up due to an injury Nowitsky. It was her last competition. Novitsky was injured in a car accident in 2006 and never fully recovered from it. When it was no longer possible for him to train intensively enough, he announced his retirement from competitive sports in April 2010 and so the ice dancing couple split up.

In May 2010 Jana Chochlowa found a new ice dance partner in Fyodor Andreyev . They train in Canton, Michigan , with Igor Schpilband and Andreev's mother, Marina Sujewa . Khokhlova and Andreyev finished their first joint Russian championships six months later in fourth place.
