Career

Jared Ross began his career as a hockey player at the University of Alabama Huntsville , for which he played from 2001 to 2005 for a total of four years in College Hockey America . Towards the end of the 2004/05 season Ross scored eight points scorer, including three goals, in twelve games for the Motor City Mechanics from the United Hockey League , where he made his debut in professional ice hockey. Then Ross moved in the summer of 2005 to the Chicago Wolves from the American Hockey League , the farm team of the Atlanta Thrashers . There he was able to earn a regular place straight away, but never received a contract offer from the Thrashers valid for the National Hockey League . Ross also played a game in the 2005/06 season for the Wolves' farm team, the Gwinnett Gladiators from the ECHL .

In the middle of the 2006/07 season Ross was released from Chicago to league rivals Philadelphia Phantoms , the farm team of the Philadelphia Flyers . After performing well last year for the Phantoms, Ross was called up by the Flyers in October 2008 and made his debut in the National Hockey League. He is the first NHL player born and trained in Alabama .

In the following years, however, he found himself predominantly with the Philadelphia Phantoms in the AHL and came only to a few missions for the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL. For his good performance on the farm team, Ross was rewarded with a nomination for the AHL All-Star Classic in 2009 . In that game he was named MVP after setting a new record with seven points. In July 2010 he was signed by the Atlanta Thrashers , who sent him to the Chicago Wolves in the AHL.

On April 30, 2011, Ross was signed by ERC Ingolstadt from the German Ice Hockey League for two years and played there until 2016. In 2014 he was German champion with the ERCI .
