history

The Johan Cesar was built at the Reiherstieg shipyard under the direction of Joachim Eduard von Somm . It was launched in 1852 with hull number 7. The first owner was the trading company Joh. Ces. Godeffroy & son of the Hamburg businessman Johan Cesar Godeffroy . In the company's liner service , the barque went to Australia, South America and South Africa. A trip to Nikolaevsk on the Amur in 1862 (departure December 1861) was extraordinary .

Between 1867 and 1872 the owner was temporarily captain HDA Brück (Hamburg). In 1880 the ship was sold to Björkegrenska Rederiet in Simrishamn and now sailed as Ingegerd .

Other ships sailed as Johan Cesar : A brig was built in Kiel in 1819 and in November 1837 by the previous owner v. Duckwitz ( Bremen ) acquired. In 1847 it was sold again in Valparaiso . A barque for Joh. Ces ran in 1869 at the Reiherstieg shipyard with hull number 192 . Godeffroy & Son launched. The ship was lost on December 21, 1870 at the Shetland Islands .
