Johann Wilhelm Libštejnský von Kolowrat (also: Johann Wilhelm Reichsgraf Kolowrat-Liebsteinský ; Czech: Jan Vilém hrabě Libštejnský z Kolovrat ; * 1627 in Innsbruck ; † 31 May 1668 in Brno ) was appointed Archbishop of Prague .

Life

His parents lived at the archducal court in Innsbruck. Johann Wilhelm studied as an alumna of the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and owned canonicals in Brno and Olomouc , where he was also a scholar . After the death of the Prague Archbishop Ernst Adalbert von Harrach , Emperor Leopold I nominated him as his successor in November 1667 and the Prague Cross Lords with the Red Star also chose him as their Grand Master . He was unable to take up either office because he died in his brother's house in Brno before the papal confirmation.

His body was buried in the Olomouc Cathedral , his heart in the church in Reichenau an der Knieschna .
