John M'Bumba

John Mickaëlm M'Bumba (born April 29, 1983 in Anderlecht , Belgium ) is a French boxer . He was a bronze medalist at the 2007 World Amateur Heavyweight Championship.

Career

John M'Bumba was born as the son of African immigrants in Anderlecht, Belgium. When he was still a child, he went to France with his parents and after several relocations he settled in Aubervilliers . There he joined the boxing club Boxing Beats Aubervilliers . Said Bennajem became his coach. John M'Bumba is 1.85 m tall as an adult and weighs about 90 kg. So he's boxing in the heavyweight division. He is a member of the French army, which supports him in his sporting ambitions, and is stationed in Montlhéry .

At the French championship in 2005, John M'Bumba reached the semi-finals, in which he lost to Newfel Ouatah . But he was used by the French boxing federation in the same year at the “Coupe des Nations” in Bastia , where he first defeated the German Konstantin Airich , but was beaten on points (16:24) in the final battle against the Cuban top boxer Ismaikel Pérez . At the French championship in 2006 M'Bumba reached the final in the heavyweight division for the first time, but met there again on Newfel Ouateh and lost by knockout in the first round.
