Jonathan "Jonni" Fulcher (born September 22, 1974 in Inverness , Scotland ) is a Scottish pool and snooker player living in Geneva .

Career

Fulcher started playing pool at the age of ten . At the age of 18 he moved to London and studied physics at Imperial College London . There he joined the Imperial College Snooker Club and took part in the following years at the British University Championships, which he won in 1997 with the team and in 1999 in the individual. He then was team captain of the English university team at the Home Nations Championship, which it won three times. In 2003 Fulcher moved to Geneva , Switzerland . In 2004 he became Swiss snooker master . In addition, he became Swiss champion in 8-ball and 9-ball .

Pool

In 2006 Fulcher won a Euro Tour tournament for the only time so far . After he was eliminated in the sixteenth finals at the Austria Open and the Netherlands Open against the Poles Radosław Babica and the Dane Bahram Lotfy , he reached the final of the Swiss Open with victories against Huidji See and Roman Hybler, among others . He won this against the Maltese Tony Drago with 10: 8.

At the Czech Open 2007 Fulcher reached the second round, but lost it to the German Ralf Souquet with 2:10, in the second round of the Italy Open he was defeated by the Swiss Marco Tschudi with 8:10. At the Austria Open and the Netherlands Open he was also eliminated in the round of 16, against Nick van den Berg and Roman Hybler, respectively. At the US Open he finished 65th in 2007, as well as at the 9-Ball World Cup , where he was eliminated without a win in the preliminary round. At the Costa del Sol Open he lost 4:10 to the Spaniard Antonio Fazanes in the round of 32 .

In 2008 Fulcher reached third place at the Paris Open. On the Euro Tour he was eliminated from the French Open in the sixteenth finals against Englishman Darren Appleton . At the German Open he made it to the round of 16, which he then lost against the Dutchman van den Berg 9-0. At the 14/1 endless World Cup 2008 he was eliminated in the group stage. At the Netherlands Open he lost to the Russian Ruslan Chinakhov in the sixteenth finals . At the 10-Ball World Cup in 2008 he reached the round of 64, in which he lost 5: 9 against Mika Immonen from Finland .

At the French Open 2009 Fulcher reached the quarter-finals, but lost it 7: 9 against the eventual finalist Mario He . At the Philippines Open he came in 31st place, at the Qatar International Championship in 17th place. At the 14/1 Endless World Cup 2009 he reached the quarter-finals, at the 10-Ball World Cup he was eliminated in the round of 32 against the Dutchman Nick van den Berg 4-9.

In 2012 Fulcher lost to the Portuguese Manuel Gama 5: 8 in the sixteenth finals of the Italy Open . In 2013 he was eliminated in the preliminary round of the 14/1 endless World Cup and finished 17th. At the Castel-Brando Open he lost 7: 9 in the round of 32 against England's Mark Gray . At the 14/1 endless World Cup 2014 Fulcher managed to make it into the round of 16, but lost it to the American Tony Robles .

Together with Jayson Shaw , Fulcher represented Scotland at the World Cup of Pool 2013 . In the first round, however, they were defeated by the later finalists from the Netherlands (Nick van den Berg and Niels Feijen ) with 2: 7.

In 2007 Fulcher defeated defending champion Alex Borg at the European Snooker Championship , ending his streak of 24 unbeaten games. However, he himself then left.

In the 2011/12 season Fulcher took part in several PTC tournaments . After losing 4-0 in the first preliminary round to the Englishman Kyren Wilson at the second PTC tournament in 2011/12 , he was eliminated in the second preliminary round of the Paul Hunter Classic 2011 against the Englishman Jamie O'Neill 4-0. At the Kay Suzanne Memorial Trophy he lost 4-1 to Englishman Billy Joe Castle in the first round . At the Alex Higgins International Trophy he did not play against the Irish Karl Fitzpatrick in the first preliminary round , and was eliminated. At the Antwerp Open 2011 he qualified for the finals, but in the first round he lost 4-0 to the Englishman Ali Carter .

In 2017 and 2018 he was again Swiss champion.
