college

After an ankle injury in his senior year of high school, Crawford completed a college prep year at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va . Before joining Indiana University in 2007 . Here he played for the college team Hoosiers in the Big Ten Conference of the NCAA . In his freshman season he played in 30 games, in which he was able to achieve an average of 9.7 points with 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Crawford got 15 double digits. Indiana won 13 of these 15 games. The team finished the season with 25 won out of 33 games and Indiana University was able to move into the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship , where his team could reach the second round, in which it was defeated by the eventual champions of UCLA with 49:54 .

In 2008 he moved to the Xavier University of Cincinnati . In the season after the change, however, he did not play a game because of a suspension from the NCAA . Nevertheless, he was able to train with his team. The following summer, it was announced that a player during a training game of college players during a camp against LeBron James , a dunk would have done. However, the videos made by viewers during the game were confiscated by Nike . Shortly afterwards, it was revealed that Crawford had dunked James. He was then given nicknames like The Kid Who Dunked on LeBron . Crawford said he had finally found a home in Xavier.

The next season he became the most important player on his team, achieving 20.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Again he was able to move into the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship with his team. Xavier won the first two rounds against the University of Minnesota in the first round and against the University of Pittsburgh , against which they were eliminated last season. In the third round, however, Crawford's team had to admit defeat to Kansas State University . That year Crawford was named A-10 Player of the Year and was appointed to the All-American First Team.

Professional career

Crawford was then included in the 2010 NBA draft with the 27th pick from the New Jersey Nets , which traded him to the Atlanta Hawks relatively shortly afterwards . On February 23, 2011, he was then, together with Maurice Evans and a later first-round pick in the NBA Draft for Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong to Washington, DC to the Wizards sent. On April 1, he achieved the first triple double of his career. He scored 21 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Shortly before the end of the transfer, he moved to the Boston Celtics in February 2013 in exchange for Leandro Barbosa and Jason Collins . Crawford ran for the Celtics until January 2014. In mid-January, the Celtics transferred him along with Marshon Brooks to the Golden State Warriors .

After the end of the season Crawford moved for the following season to the Chinese Basketball Association for the Flying Tigers from Xinjiang , which he left after just five games. The following year he was hired by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants , a team from the NBA D-League . After he played for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League and for the Chicago Bulls in the pre-season, he returned to China and played for Tianjin Ronggang . After just a year, he returned to the D-League, where he played for Grand Rapids Drive .

In March 2017, he signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA. After he played five games for the Pelicans in the following season , his contract was dissolved after Jameer Nelsons was signed . Towards the end of the season, however, he was signed again. Crawford's commitment by the German Bundesliga club Alba Berlin in November 2018 failed because he did not pass the club's medical check.
