Jordan Owens (born May 1, 1986 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player . He holds the position of the left winger and is 1.83 meters tall. Owens was a member of the German first division club Fischtown Pinguins until 2018 .

Career

Owens played from 2004 for the Mississauga IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and scored 69 goals and 84 assists in 192 missions in three years. In the closing stages of the 2006/07 season he moved to the Hartford Wolf Pack in the American Hockey League (AHL) and then received a contract with the NHL club New York Rangers in May 2009 . He was not used in the National Hockey League , but again for the Wolf Pack, the Rangers' farm team.

In March 2010 he was transferred to the Grand Rapids Griffins in exchange for Kris Newbury . The next stop in his career was the Connecticut Whale , where he spent the 2011/12 season. In the 2012/13 season Owens gained his first experience in Europe and ran for the Danish first division club SønderjyskE . With 19 goals and 21 assists in 47 missions Owens contributed to winning the Danish championship title, and he also won the national cup competition with the club.

In the 2013/14 season he was active again in North America and played for the South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL and the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL before moving to South Tyrol: In August 2014 he was announced as a new addition by the WSV Sterzing . In Serie A he again proved his nose for goals, scoring 31 goals in 45 games and putting forward 32 more.

After a season in South Tyrol Owens moved on to Germany and switched to the Fischtown Pinguins for the 2015/16 season . In his first year in the DEL2 he made 52 appearances with 16 goals and 24 assists. For the 2016/17 season Owens went to the top German league with the Bremerhaveners after the club had received a DEL license. In 2017 and 2018 he reached the DEL championship round with Bremerhaven, after the end of the 2017/18 game year he left the team.
