The Kämpfelbach near Ispringen |
The Kämpfelbach is a brook in the Enzkreis in Baden-Württemberg . After a more than 11 km long, first northwest, then western run in the district of Singen von Remchingen, it flows from the right into the Upper Pfinz . The municipality of Kämpfelbach through which he flows is named after him.
geography
source
The Kämpfelbach rises from a contained karst spring in Ispringen ( 263 m above sea level ), which lies on the edge of the karst area of the Bauschlotter Platte . A 1977 performed staining assay showed that over the source of the Enzenloch drained, a 3.1-square-kilometer Karst tray without runoff water containing 1.75 kilometers south of the Kämpfelbachquelle in the area of junction Pforzheim-West of the Federal Highway 8 and Pforzheimer industrial area Wilferdinger height is . The distance speed was 77 meters per hour. Today the Enzenloch is drained through a tunnel in the Pforzheim sewer system; only when there is heavy rainfall does water seep into the shrinkage .
With the 10.6 square kilometer Katharinentalerhof Depression , one of the largest drainage-free areas in Germany is located east of Ispringen. A dyeing experiment also carried out in 1977 at the foxhole , the central shrinkage of the depression, showed that the main water outlet was at the Enzbrunnen , 10 kilometers further north . At the Kämpfelbach spring 3.8 kilometers away, there was a secondary leak after five days.
Between February and May 1977, spring discharges between 72 and 148 liters per second were measured. After heavy rainfall, the bed increased faster and more strongly than with other sources investigated. An information board at the Kämpfelbachquelle indicates the discharge at 30 to 40 liters per second.
The bed of the Kämpfelbach spring is so large and even that a mill that can still be seen today could be operated 50 meters after the source.
course
From its source near Ispringer Brunnenstrasse, the Kämpfelbach initially flows northwest for a long time. After less than a kilometer, at the end of the village, it takes up the 4.5 km long Lechfeldgraben, which begins its course on the Pforzheimer Wolfsberg and finally flows in Ispringen close to the Kämpfelbach. Further down, it runs through the districts of Ersingen and Bilfingen in the municipality of Kämpfelbach .
After crossing over to the municipality of Königsbach-Stein , the Bruchbach, its most important tributary, flows from the east of its Stein district , almost as long as it has to this point and with an even larger sub-catchment area. The Kämpfelbach itself now changes to the west run, flows through the other district of Königsbach of the municipality, where Ramsbach and then Frontalgraben converge from the right. Finally, it flows through the village of Singen in the neighboring municipality of Remchingen , where it flows from the right into the Upper Pfinz .
Catchment area
The 73.2 km² catchment area of the Kämpfelsbach lies, in natural terms, in the part of the Kraichgau called Pfinzhügelland , with the source and the higher upper reaches in the east and south in its lower region of Eastern Pfinzgau , with the somewhat less extensive northwestern valley in its lower region of Western Pfinzgau . The highest point on the southern watershed on the northern slope of the Pforzheimer Schönbühl ( 394.5 m above sea level ) reaches almost 390 m above sea level. NHN .
In the area there is predominantly the shell limestone , which is still overlaid by Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt Formation ) at the northeastern fringe , in some places and also in the western catchment area above the highest Triassic layer there is also loess sediment from much younger Quaternary deposits. The plateaus between the valleys, which are deeply buried in many places, consist of Lower Muschelkalk . The valley line from Lechfeldgraben and Kämpfelbach already begins in the flat upper part in the Middle Muschelkalk and down from Ersingen the Lower Muschelkalk stretches out on the lower slopes of the valley . The red sandstone still below , on the other hand, cannot be reached anywhere. Few fault lines, suspected or proven, run roughly from southwest to northeast.
The catchment areas of the following neighboring waters border in turn:
- in the northwest from the confluence with that of the downstream Pfinz with only a few and short tributaries from the watershed
- in the north that of the Walzbach , which also drains into the Pfinz much further down
- to the northeast is the headwaters of a higher tributary of the Saalbach , which also feeds the Upper Rhine below the Pfinz
- on the other side of the eastern and southern watershed, some brooks run to the Enz , whose outflow reaches the Rhine much further downwards over the Neckar ; the Enz itself flows in Pforzheim just one kilometer from the Scheide
- in the southwest the Rannbach competes only briefly , then almost to the mouth of the Hungerbrunnengraben , two right tributaries now again the Pfinz above the Kämpfelbach.
The central part of the catchment area with the entire course of the Kämpfelbach itself lies in the Enzkreis ; The communities of Ispringen , Kämpfelbach , Königsbach-Stein and Remchingen as well as in the Bruchbach sub-catchment area Eisingen and Neulingen have a share in it. In addition, the southern edge belongs to the independent city of Pforzheim and a narrow strip in the very north to the district of Karlsruhe with areas for the municipality of Pfinztal and Walzbachtal .
