The Canton Épernon is a French canton in the arrondissement Chartres and Dreux , in the department of Eure-et-Loir and the region Center-Val de Loire ; its capital is Épernon .
history
The canton Épernon was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its communes come from the former cantons Maintenon (13 of the 19 communes) and Nogent-le-Roi (10 of the 18 communes).

The canton is located in the northeast of the Eure-et-Loir department and borders the Île-de-France region.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the five candidate pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Anne Bracco (DVD) / Jean-Noël Marie (UMP / LR) won against Marie-Claire Chabot / Jean-Pierre Schmitt (both FN ) with a share of the vote of 68.87% (turnout : 47.59%)
