Hanches lies on the Drouette River and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Lucien in the north and north-west, Raizeux in the north-east, Épernon in the east, Gas in the south, Houx in the south and south-west, Maintenon in the west and Saint-Martin-de-Nigelles in the west and northwest.
