Thivars is a French commune with 1,059 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Chartres and the canton of Chartres-2 (until 2015: canton of Chartres-Sud-Ouest ).
geography
Thivars is located about eight kilometers south-southwest of Chartres on the Eure . Thivars is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Fontenay-sur-Eure in the north and northwest, Barjouville in the northeast, Ver-lès-Chartres in the east, Dammarie in the southeast and Mignières in the south and west.
The former Route nationale 10 (today's D910) and the Autoroute A11 to the south lead through the municipality .
