The canton of Valenciennes-Est was a French canton in the arrondissement of Valenciennes , in the Nord department and in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region until 2015 . Its main town was Valenciennes . Fabien Thiémé ( PCF ) was the last representative in the Department's General Council from 1998 to 2015 .
