The Qoradaryo ( Uzbek ) ( Kyrgyz Кара-Дарыя Kara-Daryja ; Russian Карадарья́ Karadarja , Кара-Дарья Kara-Darja ) is the left headwaters of the Syrdarja in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan .
course
The Qoradaryo arises at the confluence of its two source rivers, Karakuldscha and Tar , which arise in the Ferghana Mountains and Alai Mountains . Shortly afterwards it is dammed up to the Andijon reservoir. The tributaries Jassy from the right and Kurschab from the left also flow into the reservoir. A large part of the water below the Andijon dam is diverted via the southern Ferghana Canal . The actual river flows mainly in a westerly direction through the Ferghanatal . The right tributaries Kökart and Karaüngkür flow to it. To the north of Andijon , it forms a section of the Great Ferghana Canal over a length of 3 km . This diverts part of the river water. In the lower reaches of the Arawansai still flows into the Qoradaryo from the left. Finally, the Kara Darya scores from a total of 180 km along the Naryn . The river drains an area of 30,100 km². The mean discharge (MQ) is 140 km above the mouth 121 m³ / s. The cities of Ösgön and Xonobod are on the riverbank.
