Karl Friedrich Wichmann von Bose (born August 29, 1769 in Ermlitz , † December 5, 1839 in Erfurt ) was a Prussian major general and brigadier of the 4th Gendarmerie Brigade.

Life

origin

His parents were Karl Hieronymus von Bose (* October 18, 1718; † September 14, 1797) and his wife Karoline Friederike, born von Wolfsramsdorff (* June 25, 1739; † July 6, 1816). His father was a major in Saxony and a gentleman in Ermlitz and Oberthau.

Military career

Bose came on 21 August 1784 as corporal corporal in the infantry regiment "of Leipzig" the Prussian army , and became there until 6 June 1790 to second lieutenant . During the First Coalition War he fought in the siege of Verdun , the cannonade of Valmy , the blockade of Main and Landau as well as the battle near Marienborn and the battle of Kaiserslautern . On June 10, 1800, Bose was promoted to lieutenant prime minister. During the Fourth Coalition War , he was captured in the Battle of Auerstedt and was made inactive.

On September 27, 1808, Bose was aggregated to the Leib-Infanterie-Regiment with half his salary . He was promoted to staff captain on May 16, 1809 and was assigned to the regiment on September 21, 1809. On September 26, 1812, when he was promoted to captain, he was appointed company commander . In this capacity, Bose took part in the battles at Mesothen and Lauschkrug in 1812 during the Russian campaign. At Garossenkrug he was wounded and on October 18, 1812 with the order Pour le Mérite . During the Wars of Liberation , Bose was wounded in the battle of Großgörschen , then fought in the battles of Bautzen , Katzbach , Leipzig , Laon , Paris , Montmirail and Chateu-Thierry . At the crossing at Wartenburg Bose was wounded again, but was able to take part in the battles at Bunzlau, Chalons and Trillport. In the battle near Freyburg he acquired the Iron Cross 2nd class. On June 27, 1813, Bose was promoted to major by patent dated September 13, 1813. On April 19, 1815 he was appointed commander of the replacement battalion No. 6 and on October 3, 1815 promoted to lieutenant colonel.

After the end of the war , Bose was transferred to the gendarmerie as a district brigadier on October 22, 1816 and was appointed brigadier of the 4th Gendarmerie Brigade on October 30, 1820. In addition, he became colonel on March 30, 1823 with a patent from April 1, 1823 . On July 18, 1825 he received the service cross and on August 16, 1834 the Order of the Red Eagle III. Awarded class with a ribbon. Bose received on 14 September 1836 awarding of the character as a major general his farewell with a pension of 1200 thalers. He died on December 5, 1839 in Erfurt and was buried in the Brühl cemetery .

family

Bose married Charlotte Henriette Schmidt on April 29, 1816 in Forchheim (born February 26, 1785 - † June 9, 1847). The daughter Karoline Wilhelmine Kunigunde emerged from the marriage and married a captain von Haxthausen .
