Karl Kuno Friedrich von Klitzing (born March 28, 1728 in Schorbus , † January 1785 in Graudenz ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the fusilier regiment of the same name and hereditary judge on Schorbus, Reinpusch and Fröhden .

Karl Kuno Ludwig was the third son from the second marriage of Governor Gottlob Leopold von Klitzing (* December 8, 1690 - May 16, 1748) and Christiane Louise Thilo, born von Thielau (* September 5, 1702) from the House of Kroitsch in Silesia .

Military career

Klitzing was a page with the Queen of Prussia from 1739 to 1740 . 1743 he came as a cadet to III. Battalion of the Guard of the Prussian Army . In 1744 he fought with it at the siege of Prague and received the order Pour le Mérite in the same year . In 1746 he moved to the 1st Battalion. In 1747 he became an ensign and in 1755 a second lieutenant . In the Seven Years' War he fought in the Battle of Prague and in the following year 1758 he became Prime Lieutenant . Then Klitzing fought near Breslau and Kesselsdorf , Hohenfriedberg and Thrush . He was wounded in the Battle of Kolin .

In 1763 he received his own company . In 1765 he was made a major (with a patent from 1760) and transferred to the "Nassau-Usingen" regiment. In 1767 he became regimental commander, in 1772 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1775 to colonel . Klitzing still took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession and on May 23, 1783 the king appointed him major general. In addition, it received the "Rohr" regiment . He died in Graudenz in 1785.
