Charles of Trebra

Karl Albrecht von Trebra (born September 15, 1834 in Lübben ; † February 5, 1905 in Pretschen ) was a Prussian major general as well as a gentleman at Pretschen and Amalienhof.

Life

Karl was a son of the Prussian major and manor owner Karl Gustav von Trebra (1802–1849) and his wife Luise, born von Voss (1809–1877) from the Nieder-Gorpe house .

Military career

After visiting the cadets houses in Potsdam , Kulm and Berlin Trebra was on May 9, 1852 as uncharacterized Portepeefähnrich the 3rd Rifle Battalion of the Prussian Army transferred. By mid-November 1854 he was promoted to secondary lieutenant and was transferred to the East Prussian Jäger Battalion No. 1 in Braunsberg in mid-September 1862 while being promoted to Prime Lieutenant . From October 1863 he was sent to the Guard Fusilier Regiment for one year . During the mobilization on the occasion of the war against Austria , Trebra first became the leader of his battalion's replacement company in early May 1866. As a captain and company commander , he joined the mobile battalion on June 24, 1866 and took part in the fighting at Königgrätz and Tobitschau .

During the war against France in 1870/71 , Trebra led his company at Colombey , Noisseville , Amiens , Villiers , l'Orme and Bolbec as well as in front of Metz and Mézières . For his work he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class.

After the war, on February 11, 1875, he was transferred to the 4th Pomeranian Infantry Regiment No. 21 in Bromberg as a major and regular staff officer . On October 22, 1877, Trebra took command of the 1st Battalion and rose to lieutenant colonel in mid-September 1881 . This was followed from July 25, 1882 to January 25, 1884 as a commander of the 2nd battalion. He then moved up to the staff and on May 15, 1886 was promoted to colonel as commander of the 1st Lower Silesian Infantry Regiment No. 46 in Posen . In position à la suite of his regiment, he was appointed commander of Neu-Breisach on November 13, 1888 . In this capacity Trebra received on 13 August 1889 the character as a major general and was awarded the on November 18, 1900 Order of the Crown . II class with the statutory board for disposition made.

He spent his twilight years at Pretschen Castle, where he died on February 5, 1905.

Trebra married Anna Paschke (* 1845) on October 3, 1865 in Lübben. The couple had several children:
