Kaspar Friedrich von Kahlbutz (* 1687 in Kampehl ; † June 4, 1745 near Hohenfriedeberg ) was a Prussian colonel .

Life

Origin and family

Kaspar Friedrich was a member of his nephew, the Prussian colonel Friedrich Christian Heinrich von Kahlbutz (1724-1783) in the regiment of foot "Prince Ferdinand" (no. 34) , in the male line dialed Mark Brandenburg noble family of Kahlbutz . His parents were the Kurbrandenburg cornet in the regiment of the "General of the Cavalry" Prince Friedrich II of Hesse-Homburg and heir to Kampehl Christian Friedrich von Kahlbutz (1651–1702) and Margarete von Rohr († 1724). The Prussian colonel and chief of the regional regiment No. 4 (Stettin) , Baltzer Julius von Kahlbutz († 1752) was his brother.

Career

Kahlbutz joined the Prussian Army in 1706 with the Infantry Regiment (No. 5) . In 1715 he took part in the Pomeranian campaign and had advanced to the rank of captain by 1732 . He received his promotion to major on June 28, 1735. After moving to the newly established infantry regiment (No. 34), he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1741 . In the First Silesian War he has the Order Pour le Mérite earned and received in 1742 as commander of his first Grenadier battalion consisting of the grenadier companies of the regiments 16 and 34 was composed. He was promoted to colonel in March 1744 and took over a grenadier battalion which was composed of the grenadier companies of regiments 2 and 24 . At the beginning of the Second Silesian War he moved into Bohemia with the king's army and captured Tetschen Castle with his battalion , captured the crew and thus cleared the Elbe for the transport of Prussian artillery . On August 23, he was assigned his third grenadier battalion, composed of grenadier companies of the infantry regiment (No. 24) and the garrison regiment (No. 5) . On September 4, he was again commander of a grenadier battalion with the companies of regiments No. 24 and No. 27 . In front of Prague, he distinguished himself on September 11th when he stormed the Ziska Mountain. Kahlbutz is in the battle of Hohenfriedeberg fallen .
