Katrin Eckermann (born July 8, 1990 in Kevelaer , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German show jumper .

Career

Katrin Eckermann came into contact with horses at an early age, as her parents own a training and sales stable in Kranenburg . Even the club mates from her hometown club, the Kranenburg Riding Club, were always convinced that before she could even stand on two legs, she was already able to ride excellently. Her father and former trainer Otmar Eckermann, who was himself a successful show jumper, recognized this talent early on and promoted it intensively. Her outstanding successes in pony sport and the steep career in top international sport have meanwhile exceeded all expectations of her sporting career.

From February 2011, Katrin Eckermann was employed as a rider by Hendrik Snoek at Gut Berl, where she succeeded Toni Haßmann . In November 2011, she finished second behind Ludger Beerbaum at the Riders Tour final in Munich . At the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg she took third place in the Global Champions Tour stage. In February 2013 she competed for the first time in a Nations Cup in the "rider" age group. At the German Women's Championships in 2013 she achieved a medal rank for the first time, she came second with Firth of Lorne

At the German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby 2014, she won the rating test of the Global Champions Tour . In the summer of 2014, Katrin Eckermann was nominated for the CHIO Aachen and was also used in the Nations Cup. Here she fell on the moat, but got back on the horse the next day and won the North Rhine-Westphalia Prize with Carlson . In the Grand Prix she rode like in the Nations Cup Firth of Lorne , fell again at the moat and broke her collarbone.

Eckermann left Gut Berl in autumn 2014 and now works as a rider in her partner's trading stable in Füchtorf . Almost four years after her last participation in the Nations Cup, Eckermann played another Nations Cup for Germany in May 2018.

In January 2013 she was number 95 in the world rankings. In 2014, Katrin Eckermann was a member of the B-team of the German show jumpers.
