Kaur Kivistik (born April 29, 1991 in Tartu , Estonian SSR , USSR ) is an Estonian athlete who competes in the medium-distance and obstacle course .
Athletic career
International experience gained Kaur Kivistik in 2010, when he at the World Junior Championships in Moncton in the steeplechase with 9: 16.87 minutes was eliminated in advance, as well as in the U23 European Championships out in in Ostrava with 8 minutes 53.15. In 2012 he reached the final at the European Championships in Helsinki , where he finished 14th in 8: 58.02 min. At the U23 European Championships in Tampere in 2013 he was fifth in 8: 42.98 min and in 2015 he won the silver medal behind the German Martin Grau at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju in 8: 32.23 min . He qualified for the first time for the World Championships in Beijing , but did not reach the final in 8: 56.36 minutes . In 2016 he reached sixth place at the European Championships in Amsterdam in 8: 33.75 minutes and then took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was eliminated with 8: 44.25 minutes in advance .
In 2017 he finished eighth in the Student World Games in Taipei in 8: 48.04 minutes and the following year he was ninth in the final at the European Championships in Berlin in 8: 40.32 minutes and was in the lead with 8: 28.84 minutes set a new national record. In 2016 and 2017 as well as 2019 and 2020 , Kivistik became Estonian champion in obstacle course. In 2019 he also won over 800 and 1500 meters and in 2020 also over 1500 and 10,000 meters. In 2014, he was also the indoor champion in the 1,500 meter run .
