US-size license plate

Bahraini license plates correspond to the European standard size. The currently assigned signs were introduced in June 2010. They show the flag of Bahrain on the left , followed by a dark blue six-digit combination. On the right edge of the shield, the country's name appears in Latin letters and in Arabic script (البحرين). US-sized signs and license plates for two-wheelers have the flag and lettering above the combination of digits. The latter signs only use four or five digits and the Latin form of the country name isshortenedto BHR .

Police vehicles show the police emblem on the left, while on the right there is a dark blue field with the inscription POLICE . Diplomatic license plates have the inscription BAHRAIN CD in a dark green field on the right edge. As in the case of the police, only black digits are used and, in the case of shorter signs, the colored bars can be found at the top.

A variant of the German FE font is used as the font .
