history

In 1224 a Chunrad de Chirchdorf, Ministeriale von Niederaltaich Monastery, appeared as a witness. In 1273 Friedrich, Heinrich and Chunrad de Chirchdorf received goods from the monastery as a fief . In 1349 a Chunrad Chirchdorfer testified at the Metten Monastery as a witness. The extinction of the Lords of Chirchdorf was followed by various owners until Kirchdorf came under the rule of Adldorf . Until 1848 it was under its patrimonial jurisdiction .

A parish church is mentioned as early as 1155. In 1242 a district court met in Kirchdorf, whereby Kunigunde, widow of the last Count von Bogen Berthold III., Had Abbot Dietmar of Niederaltaich monastery excluded.

In 1549, Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria confirmed to Cristoff Frengkhinger zu Burghausen the justice of the open Hofmark Kirchdorf. After 1641 Kirchdorf came under the rule of Adldorf .

From 1634 to 1654, hundreds of Kirchdorfer died of the plague in the wake of the Thirty Years' War . In addition, there was famine at that time, so that about a third of the farmers left their estates. 1713 was another year of the plague, but with lesser consequences. In 1720 Kirchdorf received its first school.

In 1808 the Kirchdorf tax district was created in the Deggendorf district court. From this emerged in 1818 with the second municipal edict, the municipality of Kirchdorf in the Deggendorf Rent Office. In 1838 it was assigned to the re-established Orterhofen Regional Court and later came to the Vilshofen District Office.

Around 1846 a gang of arsonists and robbers formed as a result of the rise in prices around Kirchdorf. In 1846 a silver monstrance studded with precious stones , an equally valuable ciborium and several chalices and cash were stolen from the church . On December 8, 1847, the gang burned down the entire parish house. On this day and on March 7, 1848, several farms went up in flames.

From 1947 to 1959, Teutonic Sisters taught at the Kirchdorf elementary school. On the occasion of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Kirchdorf bei Osterhofen came to the city of Osterhofen on January 1, 1972.
