history
Klamm, Clamm, Clamium, as the place was also called, owes its existence to the rule of Burg Clam. The place has had documented market privileges since 1384 , which have been renewed several times since then. In 1825, the Clam Castle was the seat of the rulership, disctrict commissariat and tax district authorities and the market (without associated towns) had 162 inhabitants, spread over 35 tenants who lived in 31 houses. The market had a citizen hospital foundation under the rule of Burg Clam. The place was destroyed several times by the Hussites and destroyed by fires.
Between 1659 and 1664 a branch church belonging to the parish of Saxen was built and in 1784 the parish of Klam was formed by separating from Saxen. This also includes nine localities, although the market and cadastral boundaries do not coincide with the parish boundaries.
