Klaus-Henning Rosen

Klaus-Henning Rosen (born April 29, 1938 ) is a German lawyer and publicist .

Life

Klaus-Henning Rosen attended high school in Mülheim an der Ruhr. After graduating from high school, he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Siemens until 1957 . From 1960 he studied law in Stuttgart and graduated there in 1969 with the second state examination. After studying law, he was a qualified lawyer as a judge in Lörrach and Freiburg operates.

In 1970 Rosen became a civil servant in the Ministry of Justice, Labor and Social Affairs in Baden-Württemberg and personal assistant to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Walter Hirrlinger (see also Social Association VdK Deutschland eV ) and was the first public prosecutor in Stuttgart until 1973 . From 1973 he worked in the federal service of the Federal Chancellery . From 1976 to 1989 he headed the personal office of former Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt .

From 1990 to 1991 he was an official in the Inner German Ministry , after 1991-2003 civil servant in the Ministry of the Interior. From 1998 to 2003 he was Head of Department as ministerial director and was responsible, among other things, for civil and disaster protection.

Then Klaus-Henning Rosen worked as a political publicist. His main topics were the reform of the extremist resolution , extremism , coming to terms with the Nazi era and refugee issues . Rosen is a co-founder of Blick nach Rechts , an organ of the SPD . Its journalistic focus is right-wing extremism , foreigner issues , civil protection and the German-Jewish relationship .

In his retirement, Klaus-Henning Rosen worked on local history topics for Rheinbreitbach (Unkel Association) . He published a city ​​guide . Rosen headed the SPD local association Rheinbreitbach for ten years. For several legislative periods he has held local political offices as councilor , parliamentary group leader and member of several committees in the Unkel community .

Meistermann portrait

One year after the death of the former Federal Chancellor and SPD chairman, Klaus-Henning Rosen published a Brandt commemorative work which, according to Der Spiegel , “deviates from the usual devotional items” . In the book Georg Meistermann paints Willy Brandt , Rosen documents the genesis of this well-known “controversial portrait of the Chancellor” . Rudolf Scharping wrote the foreword . Until 1978 , conventional portraits of Konrad Adenauer , Ludwig Erhard and Kurt Georg Kiesinger hung in the former Chancellor Gallery in the Bonn Chancellery . Brandt's successor Helmut Schmidt also asked Meistermann to paint a similar picture , but neither Brandt nor the artist wanted to adhere to the guidelines. An anti-naturalistic picture, reminiscent of the painting style of the British artist Francis Bacon , according to the mirror report, for which it was probably difficult to express “spontaneous enthusiasm” (roses). 1984 was Helmut Kohl , the Meistermann work from the Chancellor gallery removed. Since its documentation, Rosen has continued to study the Chancellor Gallery. Willy Brandt Forum

Rosen is now retired. He was able to win the conclusion of a permanent loan agreement for the Brandt portrait of Georg Meistermann for the Willy Brandt Forum in Unkel . From 2011 to 2014 Klaus-Henning Rosen was chairman of the Willy Brandt Forum. Rosen draws thematically from 13 years of shared career with Willy Brandt . He is also a member of the German Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction , whose operational advisory board he headed from 2003 to 2011.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of AMCHA Germany .
