Klaus Lynge

Klaus Jonathan Nikolaj Peter Lynge (born December 14, 1902 in Nuuk , † 1981 in Qaqortoq ) was a Greenland councilor , trade administrator , judge and journalist .

After leaving school, Klaus Lynge started to work at Den Kongelige Grønlandske Handel , where he soon became Udsteds administrator , where he worked in the settlements around Nuuk a. a. had to direct the trade. In 1937 he was transferred to Qaqortoq, where he continued to work as a Udsteds administrator. He also edited the local newspaper Kujataamiu . He was politically active and, in addition to his work as chairman of the council of the municipality of Qaqortoq until 1959, when he was de facto mayor, he also sat in the regional council from 1945 to 1950 and from 1955 to 1959, although he was replaced by his brother in 1945 and 1949 Hans Lynge and Frederik Nielsenwas represented. Most recently, he resigned his offices and became district judge for the entire south of Greenland.

He was a knight of the Dannebrog Order and received the Fortjenstmedaljen .

Klaus Lynge was the son of pastor Niels Peter Salomon Lynge (1880–1965) and his wife Theodora Ane Sisilie Rosing (1883–1940). In addition to his brother Hans (1906–1988), who was a writer, he also had his sister Cecilie (1917–1999), who also became a writer. Klaus married On August 17, 1930 in Nuuk Ingeborg Ane Kirsten Motzfeldt (1911–?), Daughter of the head catechist and regional councilor Hans Lars Hendrik Motzfeldt and his wife Dorthea Henriette Kathrine Hammeken.
