Klemens von Waldkirch

Klemens August Graf von Waldkirch (born February 7, 1806 in Mannheim , † December 15, 1858 in Munich ) was a Bavarian diplomat and statesman .

Life

The son of the Bavarian privy councilor Clemens August Graf von Waldkirch studied law in Heidelberg and Munich . In 1825 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg and the Corps Palatia Munich .

In 1835 he became legation secretary at the Bavarian embassy in Berlin . From 1837 to 1841 he was charge d'affaires in Athens at the court of King Otto of Greece .

He was then employed in the diplomatic service in Dresden , the capital of the Kingdom of Saxony and finally at the court of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach , where he rose to become Minister- Resident in 1845 .

From 1847 to 1848 he was ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary minister in Karlsruhe , the capital of the Grand Duchy of Baden . From March 14, 1848 to April 29, 1848 he served as State Councilor and Minister Administrator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between the terms of office of the Bavarian Foreign Ministers Ludwig von Oettingen-Wallerstein and Otto von Bray-Steinburg .

Waldkirch was married to Mathilde, nee Freiin von Magerl. Their daughter Irene had married the later Bavarian general of the infantry Christoph von Godin on May 27, 1882 .
