Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering is an engineering office based in Stuttgart , New York City and Berlin . It was founded in 2001 and specializes in structural and facade planning for national and international construction projects in the areas of building construction, steel construction, timber construction, bridges and airports.

A branch in New York City was added to the headquarters in Stuttgart in 2009 and in Berlin in 2012.

The company works with world-renowned architects such as Massimiliano Fuksas , Renzo Piano , Steven Holl, Herzog & De Meuron, SHoP and Stefan Behnisch and supports facade companies such as Seele, Gartner or Frener + Reifer. Knippers Helbig also works for customers such as Apple, the Oscar Academy, Adidas and the Trumpf company.

The focus is on the development of special solutions for complex structures and facades as well as the programming of parametrically or generatively generated structures in glass and steel construction such as B. the facade of the Shenzhen International Airport , which consists of 60,000 different facade elements.

The design and construction of the world's largest membrane roof of the 1,000 m long and 100 m wide central main building of the World Exhibition in Shanghai came from Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering as well as the steel and glass construction of the shopping mall MyZeil in Frankfurt am Main , the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, or the Peek and Cloppenburg department store in Cologne .
