Behnisch Architects is a global architecture firm with a wide range of services. The architectural office Behnisch Architekten works on projects for both public and private clients in all areas from schools and universities to residential buildings, administrative buildings, museums and concert halls to sports facilities and swimming pools.

history

The Stuttgart office of Behnisch Architekten was founded in 1989 by Stefan Behnisch (* 1957), originally as a branch of Behnisch & Partner , the office of Günter Behnisch (1922-2010).

Two years after it was founded, the office became independent and began to implement projects not only in Germany but also abroad. From 1999 to the end of 2011 there was another office in Los Angeles , California . Founded in 2007 in Boston , Massachusetts , the office is currently responsible for projects in North America. Another office in Munich was added in 2009 .

The office has been operating as Behnisch Architekten since 2005. Names used previously reflected the respective partnerships, for example Behnisch, Behnisch & Partner. The office is managed by Stefan Behnisch together with the respective local partners, Robert Matthew Noblett in Boston, Robert Hösle in Munich and Stefan Rappold and Jörg Usinger in Stuttgart. Together, the three offices employ a good ninety people.

Works (selection)

Behnisch Architekten are currently working on a number of projects in Germany and abroad, including the company headquarters of Unilever Germany, the Marco Polo Tower residential building in Hamburg's HafenCity , the Ozeaneum Stralsund marine museum , the BadenCarrée residential complex in Karlsruhe, the National Center for Tumor Diseases in Heidelberg, Harvard's Allston Campus in Boston, three Digiteolabs research buildings in the greater Paris area, a concert hall in Ventspils, Latvia, the INSPI Health Campus in Malmö, Sweden, and the Brooklyn Arts Tower in New York, which is being realized together with Studio MDA .
