Kotulin ( German Groß Kottulin ) is a village in Upper Silesia in the municipality Toszek (Tost) in the powiat Gliwicki of the Silesian Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Kotulin is eight kilometers west of Toszek , 27 kilometers northwest of the district town of Gliwice (Gleiwitz) and 48 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice .

history
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 156 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 241 for Poland. Groß Kottulin remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 1069 inhabitants. On February 12, 1936, the place was renamed Rodenau OS . On April 1, 1938 Rodlingen (formerly Klein-Kottulin) was incorporated into Rodenau. In 1939 the place had 1,458 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Kotulin and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . On September 12, 1978, the railway stop was opened in Kotulin. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Gliwicki and the new Silesian Voivodeship .
