history
The place name stands for Kranewitt ('crane wood'), Upper German for ' juniper '. He already appears documented in 1590 in a transfer contract of Passauer monastery of St. Nikola at Abbey Ansbach . Until 1779 the area was Bavarian (then Innbaiern ), and until 1783 (foundation of the diocese of Linz ) the area belonged to the diocese of Passau , until 1784 to the parish of Waldzell . Pramet and Schildorn were then linked for a long time by a common parish, and were only established as two parishes in 1884. The new municipal boundary changes sides on the stream several times, which resulted in a house in the Prameter area.
During the address reform of the community of Schildorn on July 1, 2008, the village remained unchanged.
