The Krosewicker Grenzwald is a 7 hectare nature reserve in the urban area of Vreden in the Borken district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location, ecology

The Krosewicker Grenzwald is located northwest of Vreden near the village of Ellewick-Crosewick in the Münsterland district of Borken , directly on the border with the Netherlands . It is a forest that is embedded in an arable landscape. Birches and pipe grasses grow here . In the center of the nature reserve is a small body of water that was artificially created in the mid-1980s.

tourism

At the Krosewicker Grenzwald a marked hiking trail leads directly along the border. There is a barrow in the forest . The nature reserve is connected to the NRW cycling network (Wabe 56) and is on the cross-border cycling route 8-er de grens . The Flamingo Route also passes here, a themed route in the Münsterland cycling region . Junction 20, and thus the connection to the Dutch junction system, is located directly to the east on the Dutch-German border.
