The Rüenberger Venn nature reserve is located in the city of Gronau (Westphalia) in the Borken district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends northeast of the core city of Gronau. It borders directly on the Gildehauser Venn , which extends to the north and is located in the Grafschaft Bentheim district in Lower Saxony . West of the area covers the 28 ha large Dreiländersee and southeast, the 170.44-hectare nature reserve Tütenvenn . The state road L 572 and the border with the Netherlands runs to the west .
