Kurt Leucht

Kurt Leucht (born March 13, 1903 in Nuremberg ; † November 2, 1974 ibid) was a German wrestler in the Greco-Roman style.

Life

Leucht was a member of the SC 1904 “Maxvorstadt” Nürnberg. The small, stocky and kitty wrestler quickly grew into the German and international top class and qualified for the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam by defeating Vice European Champion Paul Reiber , Musberg.

After he could not prevail in the Olympic elimination in 1932 against the new star in the wrestling heaven Jakob Brendel , Nuremberg , who later also became Olympic champion, and after the forced union with the AABD, new strong wrestlers like Justin Gehring , Friesenheim, pushed onto the mat, he finished his international wrestling career, but remained loyal to wrestling as a referee.

In his hometown of Nuremberg, the Kurt-Leucht-Weg, a street in the Dutzendteich district near the Nuremberg Arena and the Frankenstadion, was named after him.
