Lamersdorf is a part of the municipality of Inden in the Düren district . The place is on the state road 241 from Weisweiler to Jülich directly in front of the Inden opencast mine . The Inde , which originally flowed in a south-north direction through Lamersdorf and on to Inden, was diverted due to this expansion and now flows around the place and further in a north-westerly direction.

Lamersdorf is not to be confused with Lammersdorf near Simmerath in the Aachen city region or with Lammersdorf am Millstätter Berg in Carinthia / Austria .

history

  • 1308 Lamersdorf is mentioned in the "liber valoris" as a parish in the deanery Jülich . Lamersdorf is the mother church of the Frenz Chapel, which was raised to a parish church in 1863.
  • In 1438 the Jülich sovereign incorporated the Lamersdorf church into the Wilhelmine monastery in Düren .
  • In 1798 Lamersdorf came to the canton of Eschweiler .
  • In 1825 Lamersdorf came to the Derichsweiler deanery .
  • Heavy fighting broke out on the Inde at the end of 1944 when American troops advanced towards the Rur .

On January 1, 1972, Lamersdorf was incorporated into Inden.

  • In 1973 the Derichsweiler deanery is dissolved and Lamersdorf comes to the Langerwehe deanery .
  • The resettlement of the villages of Altdorf and Inden, which began in 1991, was completed in 1999 , and the newly created village of Inden / Altdorf lies in the area between the villages of Frenz , Lamersdorf and Lucherberg , which are arranged like a triangle , whereby the aim is to merge the four places.
  • 2006, on December 31st, the dean's office in Langerwehe is dissolved. Lamersdorf is assigned to the community of communities (GdG) Inden / Langerwehe .

The Roman Catholic branch church and former parish church is a two-aisled building from the 15th century. It belongs to the large parish of St. Josef, Inden.

Industry

As in the rest of the Düren district, there is a paper industry tradition in Lamersdorf . In 1837 Friedrich Wilhelm von Auw produced "paper without end" on one machine for the first time in the Lamersdorf paper mill , which was a revolutionary development for the paper industry in the Düren area.

Long-distance roads: The next motorway connection is "Weisweiler" on the A 4 . “Eschweiler-Ost” is under construction and “Frenz” is planned on the A 4. The two new junctions are to replace the “Weisweiler” AS.

Public transport: Lamersdorf is part of the AVV . The two Lamersdorf bus stops "GHS Inden" and "Lamersdorf Markt" are served by lines 216, 234 and 260, which connect the place with Frenz (and further with Weisweiler and Eschweiler), Inden / Altdorf, Langerwehe, Lucherberg, Pier (and further with Krauthausen and Niederzier ) and Schophoven.

Railway: The nearest train stations are Langerwehe , which is part of the Cologne - Aachen railway line, and Weisweiler on the Euregiobahn . Until 1983, Lamersdorf also had its own stop on the Mönchengladbach - Stolberg railway line, which has now been closed .
