The La Première program corresponds to the French concept of the “radio généraliste”, a full program with a large amount of verbal content. According to SRG SSR, the station reached an average of 586,000 people per day in 2012 . The market share in the same year was 39.2 percent. This makes La Première by far the most listened to radio station in French-speaking Switzerland , but has lost listeners compared to previous years.

The studios are located in Lausanne .

reception

La Première is the only French-language program to be broadcast not only in French-speaking Switzerland, but also in the other language regions. While reception is possible across the board in Ticino, there are currently few frequencies in German-speaking Switzerland. The powerful transmitter on the Säntis (99.9 MHz) reaches large parts of German-speaking Switzerland . At this frequency, La Première can also be received in German and Austrian regions near the border, such as the Allgäu, Upper Swabia and the Lake Constance region as well as Vorarlberg. The station can be heard nationwide in Switzerland via DAB and worldwide via Internet stream.
