La Trinité is a French commune with 12,243 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the overseas department of Martinique . La Trinité is one of the three sub-prefectures in Martinique. The place is on the eastern coast of the island. The sub-prefecture was established by decree of September 15, 1965 and, in addition to La Trinité, also includes the municipalities of L'Ajoupa-Bouillon , Basse-Pointe , Grand'Rivière , Gros-Morne , Le Lorrain , Macouba , Le Marigot , Le Robert and Sainte- Marie .
