Lambrusco di Sorbara (DOC)

Under the name Lambrusco di Sorbara (DOC) are Perl and sparkling wines produced. The growing area for this is in the province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna and has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata , DOC) since 1970 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Growing area

Cultivation and vinification of the products is only permitted in the municipalities of Bastiglia , Bomporto , Nonantola , Ravarino , San Prospero and in parts of the municipalities of Campogalliano , Camposanto , Carpi , Castelfranco Emilia , Modena , Soliera and San Cesario sul Panaro - all in the province of Modena .

In 2017, 117,572 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced.

Only semi-sparkling and sparkling wines ( Spumante ) are produced, each in the versions Lambrusco di Sorbara Rosso and Lambrusco di Sorbara Rosato . The products are cuvées made from at least 60% of the Lambrusco di Sorbara grape variety and a maximum of 40% of the Lambrusco Salamino grape variety . A maximum of 15% other lambrushi may be added - individually or together.
