development

In the 19th century, the trenches in today's protected area were used to drain the water masses not absorbed by the sewage fields into the Nuthe . In the 1960s, the United Beerener trench was in the area of melioration operated.

After the landscape protection area was established on February 27, 1998, the Brandenburg state government made several minor changes:

  • January 10, 2002: Smaller areas were outsourced from the scope of the landscape protection area.
  • June 23, 2005: Smaller areas were separated from the scope of the landscape protection area.
  • February 3, 2014: The protection purposes for areas of a master plan can be canceled if the ministry responsible for nature conservation and landscape management has approved.

As part of the construction work for the four-lane east-west connecting expressway Landesstraße 76 from Potsdam via Teltow to Mahlow and on to Schönefeld , which completely divides the landscape protection area, a number of measures were taken:

  • a wildlife bridge
  • an amphibian passage
  • Game protection fences along the entire route
  • Reforestation of around 17 hectares of mixed deciduous forest
  • Planting 400 deciduous and fruit trees on roads and paths
  • Planting of median strips and embankments with shrubs
  • a bridge over the Mahlower Seegraben (irrigation bridge)
  • a bridge for a farm road
  • two kilometers of new farm roads for farmers and foresters in the nature reserve
